First Steps

 Install the Roland

drivers from the driver CD and test the MIDI

connection and the USB connection.

 Install the EXR-Studio software

 Turn on your EXR-E

. Press the [USB] button on your EXR-E

keyboard’s board if

the “PC<->EXR” messages showing on the keyboard’s display. Press the [Yes] button

to cancel the connection.

 Run the EXR-Studio now.

 Enter a folder on your PC for EXR-E

files when the software asks you.

 Run the test.

 Make a backup file to save the factory data.

Use the factory CD and install the drivers. The installation information you can find on the

CD-ROM. If the install is successful try the flash memory and the MIDI connection.

Turn on your keyboard and press the [USB] button on the board. If the “PC<->EXR”

messages showing on the keyboard’s display find the EXR flash memory on the PC. Use the

Explorer function to the checking. You have to see the

EXR-E

flash memory as a removable disk drive called “EXR”. Press the [USB] button again

to cancel the connection.

Open the Windows



Control Panel function and check the MIDI settings on the Audio page.

Look at the list of the MIDI devices. If the “EXR” found in the list the MIDI out port is

available. Never forgot, while the EXR-E

flash memory connected to the PC via USB the

EXR’s MIDI ports aren’t available.

Install the EXR-Studio software

Run the Setup.exe from the attached CD-ROM. If you have only one CD-ROM this file found

in a separated folder that is called EXR-Studio. Follow the steps of the installation showed on

the setup windows. After the installation you can run the EXR-Studio under the Windows



Start Menu, Programs or under the EXR-Studio desktop icon.

The uninstall procedure is also available if you run the setup.exe again or you can uninstall

this software with the Add or Remove Programs function from the Control Panel. The

uninstall procedure will not delete the specified data folder, so you won’t lost the saved EXR

styles, songs and user programs. After uninstall finished, you must delete the unnecessary

data files manually.
